Jess, I am adopted and my name at birth was Infant Collins. My birth grandfather was supposed to be named James Collins from New York. I, too, was surprised that I had no Jewish DNA since my non-identifying info says that I am supposed to be Jewish. I am on 23andme as well as all of the others. Are we related???
Hi Joni, Your name didn’t come up in my list of matches. There are a few matches without names, but if your name is part of your public profile, then it doesn’t look like we’re related. Hopefully you’re able to connect with your Collins family soon 🙂
Very interesting article- and it read like a good mystery story. There are many stories emerging like yours with the testing–and DNA (genetic) testing can explain so many questions( in our family– why do we form keloids, etc. Well- African DNA surprise helped to explain some of the questions for us). Thanks for sharing your experience!!
